10 Oct Meeting with Salvatore Mereu
The meetings with the directors continue this year as is tradition at Detour since it’s first edition: a special occasion for its audience, especially for the younger part of it.
We therefore announce the first meeting: an actual cinema masterclass that Detour’s special guest, director Salvatore Mereu, will hold on Thurday 15 October at 1.00 pm at the Sala delle Edicole (Palazzo Liviano – entrance from Arco Vallaresso). It’s an unmissable event for Detour’s audiences and for anyone who loves cinema, organized with the precious collaboration of Università degli Studi di Padova. It’s a chance to know one of the most coherent and peculiar authors of our cinema, a director who, with just four films presented at all the most important international film festivals, from Venice to Berlin, has succedeed in creating a peculiar style which combines documentation and poetry.
The fourth edition of Detour. Travel Film Festival proposes a retrospective of Mereu’s works: from his short films to the narrative features which made him well-known far beyond Italian borders: his debut film Ballo a tre passi (2003), Sonetàula (2008), Tajabone (2010) and his latest movie Bellas mariposas (2012).
Free entrance. Subject to availability.
